Rotary of LaPorte wants to thank the community for their great support of the Winterfest Ice Fishing Derby and Chili Sales this last weekend. We had 55 “fisherman” come out to fish the lakes of LaPorte. Fish were caught on Pine, Stone, Fishtrap, Hudson and other lakes. The grand prize of the FL-12 Vexilar went to Nic Reamn. Nic caught pike and bass to win the honors. The youth champion was Trey Major and he caught bass, pike and a dogfish! A special thanks to our local sponsors of LaPorte City Parks Department and IU LaPorte Hospital. We also want to thank our sponsors who provided prizes: Vexilar, Vicious Fishing, Lake Fork Trophy Lures, Blakemore Fishing, G & G Baits, Kaast Bait Shop, Gracies Bait Shop, Slez’s Baitshop, Rackham Service Corporation, and Friends of Fishing. In addition we want to thank LaPorte County Convention and Visitors Bureau for giving us a grant to fund our grand prize. All the funds raised of these events will go to fund Rotary Charities. The mission of Rotary of LaPorte is “service above self” and we are excited to serve the community of LaPorte. |
